San Felipe - Beach House
This house for an American family, located in San Felipe, Baja California, will be built with concrete block walls, loose-filled with perlite insulation. The house is perfectly modulated for a handier construction and costs saving. Limed walls, few openings, and a palm shelter in the flat roof are gestures retrieved from local vernacular architecture.
Thought as an amusing home, it consists of three floors with a terrace roof. The lowest floor, buried half a level, lodges the bedroom, a private space open to an exuberant garden. Exterior stairs will let the users go upstairs to dive in the pool in the mornings, or to have a walk by the beach. The kitchen and the dining room are arranged at the desert’s level. A small deck lets people extend the after dinner talks to the outdoors, delighted by the landscape.
The close and solid main façade is interrupted by a wooden box which defines the entrance. Next, the hall shows the iron stairs which lead to the living room on the second floor, used also as a room for guests. This unique space, linked by a double-height to the dining room, receives daylight by an elongated skylight which extends and become a window. The palm shelter attached in the terrace roof becomes the gatherings place with the best views from the sea and the desert.
Relationships among spaces have been carefully managed to take advantage of the house’s capability of becoming an exceptional experience in a family’s life. Its orientation and plan-spin follows the path of the sun along the day and the insatiable need of contemplating the sea from home.

INTERIOR DESIGN
We believe that architecture includes several fields that together achieve the creation of a high standard piece. We design spaces that inspire and increase the quality of life of our clients. Combining knowledge with aesthetic vision, we look to develop design solutions that are creative, functional and attractive. Great interior design incorporates color, materials, textures and light to achieve the transformation of space into vibrant and amazing environments.
While creating architecture, we take in consideration the relevance of interior design, letting us have a detailed vision of the project that, later on is reflected in the armory of the space.

“La Gonzaleña” Tequila Factory
“La Gonzaleña” Tequila Factory
Authenticity as Project
Conceptually, this project’s basis muses about the relationship tequila-bottle and the manners in which these deals can extrapolate to the physical space where said product gets materialized: Tequilera La Gonzaleña
Tequila produced here, considered the best in the world, is characterized by its authenticity. Free of artificial colorings and preservatives, it ages naturally.
The bottle’s simple shape has no ornament but a handmade label. Its beauty exists since one can easily appreciate the tequila inside.
Chinaco is the producer, a traditional local firm. It deserves its international acknowledgement to the quality of its product (not to the prominence of its trademark).
Tequila Chinaco is the substance contained inside the bottle. In this fashion, we can say Chinaco Trademark is the substance contained inside the Tequilera La Gonzaleña
As the current facility doesn’t depict the authenticity of its tequila, the assignment has been to transform it into a Hacienda.
How does a factory become an authentic Hacienda?
The solution rescues spatial relationships present in original haciendas. A hotel has been included, as well as a gallery, which links the touristic zone in the south (Cerro del Bernal landscape) with the production areas (where new administrative spaces have been attached). A differing access from town streets will favor communication with Gonzalez city, while the current entrance in the track will be kept for service.
The result is a set of courtyards, regional gardens and exterior corridors contained into a rectangular plan with a pool detached and immersed into an agave field. Buildings will be constructed on exposed brick and prefabricated concrete parts (doors, windows, arcades). High parapets and blind walls proposed account for influence of the architecture of Tamaulipas.

Metropolitan Aquarium
The aquarium subject was tackled concerning the role of the Laguna del Carpintero as the natural core of the city, and as an excuse to perk up contact between people and mangrove.
The program loses in the site, causing no alterations on it. Buildings are placed considering their relationship with landscape, sun, lagoon, mangroves, winds, hills, or other buildings. One attempts to establish a diversified sequence of experiences and events, a particular journey for every individual. Unbinding the program lets the new buildings interact with the complex without affecting it, and improves the strategy expansion in the zone (considering the existing Megaproject).
The performance is set up as a hybrid where visitors articulate the points/buildings (rhizomes). Circulations among them are given freely, expecting the future creation of physical connections according to the users’ behavior.
The parking area is designed as a naturally-wooded system. The vehicular linkage to service areas (a concrete street) is at the same time a bridge for crossing the canal. The idea of the building/pier/vantage point pretends to establish an aquatic connection in the complex, to place a landscape element that represents the aquarium at the lagoon, and to strengthen the relationship with local species.
Buildings are designed as landscape subtractions, spaces of penumbra that incite contemplation. There are no walkways because they obstruct contact with soft soil, there are canopies because they obstruct the sense of the sun; there are trees that have been preserved for the delight of the breezy shades.
It is expected that time will cause ravages, walls will go moldy, steel will rust, timbers will creak, fields will grow, and green will cover the walls. Let them become proud ruins!

Arquitectónica de Los Cabos
Arquitectónica de Los Cabos Corporate Building
Architecture Workshop
Located 15 minutes from Cabo San Lucas, the plot filled of desert vegetation became a magnificent opportunity for developing the corporate building around a yard full of native species.
Designed for a young local firm, the building will be constructed in two phases: initially it consists on a rectangular prism of exposed concrete block used temporally as architecture workshop and later occupied by three commercial spaces.
Attached to this first volume, in a second stage, the corporate building was solved in half levels because of height restrictions. The half basement lodges a meeting room, archive, cafeteria, and the architecture workshop arranged about a central work table, a large window of double height communicates vertically the workshop with the architects’ private bureaus in the upper floor, a bookcase functions as a partition wall between both offices.
A linked volume containing the materials storage and the accountancy office is the perfect excuse to have a terrace in the second floor with the best views over the Mar de Cortés: an accurate space for a joyful workplace that likes revels and informal conversations.
Concrete walls, beams, floors and slabs contrast with the butterfly roof supported softly over the screens, letting the reception become naturally lighted. An elliptic concrete wall, built using reed formwork, comprises the façade; this wall is penetrated by a floating iron box leading to the reception, 40 cm over the street level. For lowering costs and as a demonstration of the construction firm’s quality, every material that constitutes the building was left exposed.
